The Spring Lake K-2nd grade program is intended to build your child’s knowledge and basic skill set of lacrosse. Coaches and volunteers will teach fundamentals to develop your young lacrosse player. Your child will learn new drills, meet new friends, and build self-esteem all while being active on the field.

What to Expect at the K-2 Level

  • Introduction to the game – focused on having FUN
  • Focus mainly on keeping stick in hand and smaller fundamentals
  • We know at this age that catching and throwing will be very difficult. However, it is important to get them in the correct movement at this age (throwing like a baseball)
  • Exploring other aspects of the game – cradling, dodging etc. but only in a matter to increase strength and body awareness
  • Social development – how to interact with other players and work with their listening skills

Quotes from some of our players...

The games we played were so much fun! We had to run after the lacrosse balls and get as many as possible so our team could win. We ran as fast as we could to scoop up a ball and get it back to our teammates.

~Avery, 1st Grade

I liked meeting new friends and playing ground ball queen!
